I met Julidta when Frank and my husband lived at an adult family home in Edmonds. At the dinner table we often shared the experience of being on the water. When the home was closed, Julidta sought out another home for Frank. My husband went to live with the head caregivers in Lynnwood. Julidta and I shared some meals together and enjoyed Words With Friends. I saw Julidta in 2020 or 2021 after Frank had died. We met for lunch in Edmonds. I enjoyed Julidta's passion for words and books.
Thank-you to Anne for informing about Julidta's death. It sounds as if she will be greatly missed by those close to her.

Lita Tarver will be missed. Though I only knew her from professional contacts, I can say she was one of the best, and most interesting, editors that my wife and I met over the past 40 years. Her editorial skills, pleasant personality and--perhaps most importantly--her intimate knowledge of and passion for the Pacific Northwest and its people, made her very special indeed. As an acquisitions editor at UW Press, she played a crucial role in shaping the emerging scholarly fields of Indigenous Studies and environmental history, producing a series of great books. I will always remember seeing her work at conference book shows: a force of nature who was a wonderful advocate for all things Northwest.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of Lita. She was a coworker of mine and a beautiful person to work with. I learned much from her experience. She was always so gracious in sharing her wisdom and expertise in publishing. She had a positive spirit that she brought to her work and her life outside of work. She was just fun to be around. I wish her family comfort and solace in knowing she was loved by many.

I have lovely memories of Lita and Mrs Crangle who lived down the street from us in Butte, Montana. We, the Harrington family, lived at 1030 Caledonia and the Crangles lived in the 900 block. I wish we had known that she had Croatian roots. My mother's father was born Zadar, Croatia. Lita graduated a couple of years ahead of me at Girls Central High School. I have often wondered where Lita went during the years. I am so glad to know that she lived in beautiful Seattle where my son graduated from medical school many years ago. I would love to have visited with her again in life had I known that she lived there. My deep condolences to all of the family for this loss of a lovely woman. Sincerely, Maureen Harrington Britain
